Mark Shkolnik has 15 years of experience handling corporate, intellectual property, employment, real estate, and environmental matters for businesses in a broad range of industries. His practice includes mergers and acquisitions, business formation and reorganization, drafting and negotiating a variety of agreements, and advising employers on day-to-day employment issues.
Prior to joining PCT Law, Mr. Shkolnik worked with Piper Rudnick (now DLA Piper) in their Environmental Group, Intellectual Property Group, and Governmental Affairs Group. Prior to Piper Rudnick, Mr. Shkolnik was one of two environmental lawyers at the captive law firm of Chicago billionaire Sam Zell's Equity Group Investments, Inc.
Mr. Shkolnik has provided pro bono legal assistance to the Chicago Museum of Contemporary Art, Lawyers For The Creative Arts, and the Community Economic Development Law Project.

Represented a national housewares manufacturer/seller in its reorganization including revising its operating agreement and negotiating employee stock grants and financing.

Represented an office-products manufacturer in a multi-step reorganization and stock sale of its business, including prior sale of a division, spin-off of another division, purchase of affiliated companies, and the sale of certain commercial real estate. |

Represented a national wholesaler by negotiating the recovery of $1M A/R from customers. |

Represented a national software company by drafting and negotiating several software/data license and services agreements. |

Represented a national environmental consulting/remediation company by negotiating and drafting various agreements including several sub-contractor agreements, its consulting services agreement, a trademark co-existence agreement and a contract dispute settlement agreement. |

Represented an international designer/manufacturer of wall coverings with respect to patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret ownership and infringement disputes. |

Represented a national consumer products manufacturer on various day-to-day employment matters (including drafting the employee handbook, negotiating and drafting employee severance/non-compete agreements, and counseling with respect to ADA, FMLA and COBRA matters).
