Charesse Evans
Ms. Evans brings over ten years experience within the field of intellectual property. Ms. Evans’ practice includes expertise in the pharmaceutical, medical device and mechanical arts technologies, including the research, drafting and prosecution of patent applications. Ms. Evans has also assisted academia and federal government entities identify, protect and market their academic or federally-funded innovations.
Prior to joining PCT, Ms. Evans was a Technology Management Advisor at Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), a Fortune 500® scientific, engineering, and technology applications company, where she advised various Department of Defense R&D entities on matters related to managing their intellectual property portfolios, and on creating marketing programs and materials around targeted technologies that were available for sale or license.
Prior to SAIC, Ms. Evans was a patent analytics and IP advisor with the consulting arm of Computer Patent Annuities N.A., where she researched and analyzed client intellectual property portfolios to develop strategic and tactical recommendations for IP portfolio management utilizing advanced data collection and analysis tools.
She is also a former Patent Examiner for the United States Patent and Trademark Office where for over four years she examined patent innovations within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology domains.
Ms. Evans’ prior experience also includes expertise in licensing and commercialization at the University of Chicago Office of Technology and Intellectual Property where she helped university-affiliated inventors evaluate, protect and market their disclosed inventions.
Ms. Evans has conducted numerous workshops and other training programs related to intellectual property protection, establishing intellectual property management programs and on incorporating parallel intellectual property operations within organizations.
