Malik K. Cutlar

Mr. Cutlar’s practice focuses on business litigation and employment cases. He routinely handles a variety of matters including: Title VII cases (sexual harassment, retaliation, race, gender, age and national origin discrimination), FMLA and FLSA cases, and breach of contract claims involving non-competition agreements, business disputes, and intellectual property disputes. Mr. Cutlar also provides advice and counsel related to employee policies and procedures, drafts of employee handbooks, executive compensation and contracts, non-competition and non-solicitation agreements, severance agreements, and the protection of corporate intellectual property. In addition to litigating cases, Mr. Cutlar has negotiated scores of dispute resolutions and has obtained a Certification of Mediation for mediating EEO cases and workplace disputes.

Mr. Cutlar has served as lead counsel to clients in broad spectrum of industries including government contracting, export manufacturing, not-for-profits, venture capital, fund-raising, human resource capital, computer technology, construction, and the food service industry.  Mr. Cutlar has also represented senior corporate executives in contract negotiations with Fortune 500 Companies, and has been named as an expert witness on executive compensation in severance packages.  Additionally, as a faculty member of the American Management Association, Mr. Cutlar has provided training to business executives and human resource managers regarding numerous employment law matters. 

Prior to joining PCT Law Group, Mr. Cutlar was a partner at Albo & Oblon, LLP. Mr. Cutlar’s previous experience also includes four years as a trial attorney in the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division as well as three years as an Administrative Law Judge for the New York City Department of Finance.

Mr. Cutlar was named as a "Legal Elite" by Virginia Business Magazine in 2009. He was also selected as one of Virginia's "Super Lawyers" from 2006-2009 and one of Washington, D.C.'s "Super Lawyers" from 2007-2010 -- both by Law and Politics.  In 2011, Mr. Cutlar received an AV Peer Review Rating of "Preeminent" in Labor and Employment Law, which is the highest rating level.
